Questions on Tennis
- I placed a bet on a tennis player to win a match, but the player has retired. How will my bet be settled? In the case of retirement for any reason, all bets are settled according to clause 11.5 of Terms and Conditions. For Handicaps and Totals settlement the following rules are applied:
This means that it is necessary to consider all possible options of how the match or set could end to know how the bet will be settled
Example 1. Player 1 retired, Player 2 won - Doi M. (1:1 (7:6, 4:6, 1:3), Player 1 Retired)
Consider all the possible options of the match continuing after the score 1:3 in the 3rd set. If all of the possible outcomes would have resulted in your bet losing, the outcome is settled as a loss.
Example 2. Player 1 retired, Player 2 - Midler l. (1:1 (6:3 1:6 1:5) Player 1 Retired)
Consider all the possible options of the match continuing after the score was 1:5 in the 3rd set. If all of the possible outcomes would have resulted in your bet winning, the outcome is settled as a win.
Example 3. Player 1 retired, Player 2 won - Midler l. (1:1 (6:3 1:6 1:5) Player 1 Retired)
Consider all the possible options of the match continuing after the score was 1:5 in the 3rd set. If some of the possible outcomes would have resulted in your bet winning and some resulted in your bet winning, the outcome is settled as a refund.
- I placed a bet on a Match Total, but my player has retired. How will my bet be settled? In the case of retirement for any reasons all bets are settled according to clause 11.5 of the Terms and Conditions. For the Handicaps and Totals settlement the following rules are applied: 11.5 b) The results which existed at the time the match was stopped, i.e. would have happened in any possible natural conclusion, will be the results under which all bets are to be settled. This means that it is necessary to consider all possible options of how the match or set could end to know how the bet will be settled.
Example 1. Player 1 retired, Player 2 won - Lazarov A. (1:1 (6:7, 7:6, 3:0) Player 1 Retired)
Consider all the possible options of the match continuing after the score was 3:0 in the 3rd set. The last set could end with a number of different scores:
For a quick calculation you can look at the minimum score (6:0) and maximum score (7:6 or 6:7) that can be achieved in a set. If one of the potential outcomes is won, and another is lost, then it means that your bet is going to be settled as refund. For this example, the match was stopped when the total was not defined.
Example 2.
Player 2 has retired, Player 1 won - Whittington A. (1:1 (3:6 7:6 2:0) Player 2 Retired)
Consider all the possible options of the match continuing after the score was 2:0 in the 3rd set:
For this example, the match already finished with a total of 24. In any possible natural conclusion the total would be more than 25.5. That is why the bet will be settled as lost.
Example 3. Player 1 retired, Player 2 won - Midler L. (1:1 (6:3 1:6 1:5) Player 1 Retired)
Consider all the possible options of the match continuing after the score was 1:5 in the 3rd set:
For this example, the match was stopped when the total was already 22. The minimum score at which the set can end is 1:6. If your Total Games bet wins at this minimum score, it means that your bet will be settled as won.
